One limit, no feature tiers. Everything the app does is in the free plan; what you pay for is room for more of your own words.
100 words of your own, and every feature. Furigana, kanji breakdowns, example sentences, audio, the grammar lessons, spaced review, export — all of it. Words you take from a starter pack do not count towards the 100, and neither do words you have archived. At the limit nothing you have made stops working: you keep reviewing, editing and studying your whole deck. What pauses is adding more of your own words, until you archive some or upgrade.
All prices include Danish VAT. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.

Renews each year until you cancel.
No renewal and no further charge. What "lifetime" covers is spelled out below.
Because the real objection to a study tool is "will this still be here in a year", and a subscription makes that worse rather than better. Paying once is the honest answer to it. The trade is written into the terms: if the service ever closes you get at least 90 days' notice and export keeps working the whole time, and if it closes within 12 months of a lifetime purchase that purchase is refunded in full without your asking. Later than that, there is no refund — that is the deal you are making, and it is better said here than discovered then.
Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. Your deck keeps working in full — reviewing, editing, archiving, exporting. The 100-word limit applies again to adding, so if your deck is over it you simply cannot add more until it is back under. Cancelling is not deleting your account; your words and progress stay exactly where they are.
Write to hello@kotobasetto.com within 14 days of a charge, say what went wrong, and it is refunded in full — whether or not you ticked the box at checkout. That is on top of your rights under EU and Danish consumer law, which nothing in the terms takes away.
A paid plan is digital content that starts the moment you pay, and EU law asks you to confirm you want that, knowing it ends the 14-day right of withdrawal. If you would rather keep the right, do not tick it — email instead and the purchase is arranged to start after the 14 days.
Export is on the Account page and produces a file you can keep or take elsewhere, on every plan including free. It is not sold, published or used to train anything; the privacy policy lists every company that touches your data and why.
No, and you never will. The kana chart and drill and all 15 grammar lessons are open to anyone, with no account. The grammar lessons are seeded into every deck for free too, and they never count towards the 100.
